Dr. Matthew Secretan, MD, FRCSC
Raised in Picture Butte, Alberta, Dr. Matthew Secretan brings both medical excellence and small-town integrity to his work as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Lethbridge, graduating with Honours and Great Distinction, before earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alberta. Following medical school, he completed a five-year residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery through the University of Alberta, gaining extensive training in both aesthetic and reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Secretan is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is an active member of the Alberta Medical Association and the Alberta Society of Plastic Surgeons.
His areas of expertise include:
- Cosmetic body procedures, including breast and body contouring surgery
- Reconstruction following skin cancer removal
- Facial fracture management
- Hand and microsurgery
Dr. Secretan is known for his meticulous surgical technique, commitment to patient safety, and dedication to natural, balanced results. Outside of the operating room, he and his wife, Kira, co-lead Lethbridge Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics, where they have built a patient-centered practice that combines advanced medicine with an exceptional patient experience. Together, they are raising four children and remain deeply connected to the southern Alberta community they call home.
